Yes, my hayfever has made itself known once again, which means I've spent most of today sneezing and unable to do much beyond talk quite nasally. Now.. lets be fair, I probably won't get a doctors apt now at any point I can actually get there until the back end of next week at the outside, so time to be hitting Boots, I think.
In other news:
For anyone who didn't get the memo. Yes, I did myself a mischief at the last larp event I went to. Slipped, landed on my elbow, got a hairline fracture of the ball of my shoulder and quite a nasty amount of soft tissue damage in my upper arm. Yes, it hurts like buggery, yes, I'm doing my physio as I should, which is helping, but not stopping it hurting very much. It will heal. It will take a while, but it will heal, as long as I continue to not be silly at it. Of course, it's worsened again for about the last week, but thats what you get when you try and rebuild something that wasn't especially well built in the first place.
No status updates. Work continues. The rest of the world I'm sure I can explain once I'm quite sure I know just what on earth it's doing. Mild Bemusement seems to be my stock-in-trade right now.

As a BT customer, I am unimpressed.

music: Nightwish - Symphony of Destruction
Me: "Hi, just ringing up to check when my broadband contract is ending, I have a rough idea but need to know the exact date."
BT Bod: (after usual validation stuff) "Right, that finishes on the 19th of October."
Me: "Um, no, it doesn't. That's about 5 months out."
BT: "According to this, you recontracted for a further 12 months in October 2008."
Me: "... No. No I didn't. In fact, the only times I've ever called in regarding my broadband account, you assured me in fact that my contract was the same as it always was."
It went downhill from there.
Needless to say, I am not best pleased. Actually, I'm furious. I'm just very well aware how slow the Wheel of Bureaucracy turns when dealing with complaints.

They also talk of our being guilty of injustice, and their being the victims of an unjustifiable war. Brandy, and Tom got increasingly close-mouthed and sour. Although a certain sense of tripartite society survived down to Christian times, the three classes described in the Eddic poem "Rigdthula" bear little resemblance to Dumezil's three. It is often argued, and still oftener thought, that none but bad men would desire to weaken these salutary beliefs; and there can be nothing wrong,it is thought, in restraining bad men, and prohibiting what only such men would wish to practice. At its nearest point the wall was little more than one league from the City, and that was south-eastward. To honour a group of British nobles, treacherously slain at a conference by Hengist's guards, Aurelius decides to erect a great monument near Amesbury. That being so, he did not chortle when he went upstairs. Let stand. This doesn't alter either string, any more than 2+3 alters either 2 or 3. And I will say firmly that it is the author who says, "One does feel," who is really an egoist; and the author who says, "I believe," who is not an egoist. I too have noticed symptoms of the same sort of thing, a slightly put-on manner of affectation, perhaps a sort of aftermath of his fine performance in the School Play. Though there, he had always maintained, a wiser policeman would have been content with a mere reprimand. Here, PE was mandatory for all four years. Just two weeks after the world's first sky-jack, Wong Yu signed a confession and was executed. In case C, two Space Marines have a clear shot to the majority of the models in the target unit and two Space Marines do not. Yet of the King himself I remember nothing between his untimely attack of appendicitis, and the pious elegy in the best Victorian manner which I produced at school when my form was told to write a poem in memory of his passing. One little compliment can make you feel amazing. So give me a compliment, anything in the entire world, even that my shoelaces are pretty. Put this in your journal. And once you get some comments, put that entry in a memory or tag and when you are feeling down, just go to that entry and this will remind that you're not so bad in other people's eyes after all.

Work continues. I have now been upskilled, and sell other things, not just the things that I was originally hired to sell (if it seems like I'm being needlessly cryptic, then understand that I'm not going to mention my employer on open comment, because in this world, I simply don't know who's watching, and what can be used against me. call it a vague insurance policy.)
In other news, well, there really isn't a lot of that. Work is ALL I've been doing of late, aside from LARP (and seriously, you should see my robes for that. My god, so impressive. Ask

From my point of view, this isn't just one of the Gods, it's one of the Titans. Before Gods. One of the people who profoundly affected what I read, what I believe, heck, what I think on a daily basis. Who affected a world, and caused that world to think anew. Who asked us to dream of the future, without us fearing it.
Unto a better place, teacher mine.

My d20 Star Wars game appears to be kicking off to a good start (at least the players haven't told me they hate it yet, which is always a good thing,) and the players have now found themselves flying to Correllia with a Base-in-a-Box, loads of silk and illegal booze, and a curious metal cube with a heart on the side, that has no discernable purpose (the squib likes junk.) They haven't been arrested by the Imperials yet, but no doubt that'll be coming along eventually. It usually seems to.
In the absence of any interesting memes of the day (well, there's one, but I can't actually do it) we'll just skip straight onto the results of my latest web trawl. I hearby present to you Geek Eats (includes videos,) which gave me several laughs. Also tickling my funny-bone this week were the assorted reviews from zeropunctuation. Dark sarcasm at 9000mph for the win.
Other fun things: Making money, the new Discworld book, rocks. Really it does.
I was also pleased to read this, about the Doctor Who Children in Need Special. For the win.
Hmm. One of these days, I must do something about my Giant robot obsession.

Your Score: Vincent Price!
Our test has determined that you possess
24% Hellbentness, 65% Sanguinity, and 40% Creeps!
Well done!

Your Proto-Goth Icon Match(tm) is Vincent Price!
Vincent began his career on stage in romantic roles but was best known as a silken-voiced, menacing, debonair villain in Gothic film thrillers.
From an interview with Lawrence French:
French: I understand you had a difficult time saying your lines in the last scene of The Fly.
Vincent Price: Oh, it was terrible! It was a very different scene then what we finally ended up with. There was a point where Herbert Marshall and I had a kind of philosophical discussion about what we should do with my brother-in-law (David Hedison), who is a fly with a human head. Now I don't know how many flies you see around the house with human heads, or brother-in-laws, for that matter. But we were playing this scene, looking at the fly saying, "should we kill it? Should we save it?" and we could never quite get the lines out, because every time that little voice of the fly would say, "help me. Please, help me," we would just scream with laughter. It was terrible. We ended up doing about 20 takes.
